FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ Ltd is a new UK-based registered company formed in 2007 with the sole intention of sourcing ethical clothing for stylish women with a conscience, a site which is genuinely fashion forward. For once and for all we want to shake off the shackles of many people's 'sackcloth' interpretations of ethical eco-conscious fashion.

The result of some sleepless nights on a break in Southern India worrying about climate change and a desire to find seriously stylish, seriously ethical clothes for herself, the Director of FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ Ltd, a fashion and celebrity journalist for the UK's high end women's glossies, decided to hunt down the sexiest, hippest and luxurious ethical fashion to create a one-stop eco-fashion internet shop so all you eco-fashionistas could easily get your green mitts on it too.

We wanted to set up an on-line store as ethical fashion should be truly egalitarian. Just because you don't live in the UK or a major city, it doesn't mean you shouldn't have access to it.

It took some searching but we have sourced some truly brilliant clothes and unearthed some amazing new design talent from USA, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, Brazil and across the UK. We were overwhelmed with the directional fashion status and proven ethical background of much of what we discovered. We're hugely excited about this season and future collections which will be growing rapidly to embrace the number of designers who are now, finally, cottoning on (sorry) to the fact that ethical fashion can be just as high end and must-have as your favourite designer labels.

We strongly believe that while ethical fashion should never be throwaway, it can be just as brilliantly designed, made and fashion forward as other lines. FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ is officially the most stylish way to save the planet.

However FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ doesn't stop there. We also bring you, via our news and trends pages, the latest in ethical and eco-fashion, fashion trends, design and eco-celebrity news, and love bigging up and supporting our designers wherever they are featured in UK national and international press. We know celebrity support for ethical and environmental endeavours is vital for getting the message out there and if a star is worthy of it, we'll big them up too! We have huge plans for FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ up our organic sleeves, so watch this space!

While FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ aims to stock the most fashion forward ethical designers available right now, this will never be to the detriment of ethical and environmental policies which form the heart of this venture.

We love fashion, which by its nature is constantly moving, fickle and hugely wasteful. To counter this we believe in wearing items for their functional lifespan and being more discerning when making your purchases - only ever buy an item you truly love and will wear to death. Then recycle what's left of it.

We only stock designs which have an ethical and eco dimension - be it recycled, organic cotton, non-toxic, fair trade, sustainable, non-exploitative.

We have developed symbols which clearly denote the specific ethical status of the designers and their products as we know you want to know exactly why the item you love is so special. You should also check out our 'Why this item is so special' pop ups for even more amazing info about how they're made. We have to trust our designers to inform us correctly of their practices, and ethical and eco-status of the materials used. We regret that we cannot always inspect their manufacturing processes closely for ourselves.

Many people have different interpretations of what is 100 per cent ethical fashion. We believe if you are making a honest genuine move in the right direction to less harmful, exploitative practices, that is better than no move at all.

REGISTRATION
To order a product from our online store, you will need to register. This makes ordering from our site in the future quicker and easier as we can retain your billing and delivery details. We can also remember orders placed in the shopping bag if you are unable to complete the order at the time of preparing it. By registering you may also receive news of special offers, new lines and sales. It also enables us to protect you better, to verify that the card you are using is yours. Your email address will be your future sign in name and you should choose a sign in password that you will remember. If you forget your password please click on the reminder link and a new password will be sent to the email address you originally used at registration sign in.

ACCURACY
The above may also apply to accuracy of items and description. We will always endeavour to photograph and describe an item in it's true light, but on occasion, due to certain items being made from recycled products, an item may be minutely different to the product photograph. If this is likely to be the case we will inform you in the product detail description of any colour or small design variations. Also please allow for variation in computer screens colour processing and note that all measurements are approximate. All prices quoted on this website are accurate at time of publication and are quoted in GBP pounds sterling (£) and are inclusive of UK sales tax (VAT) at the current rate.
International customers should convert sterling into their own currency to get idea of charges to their debit/credit card. Please be aware your bank and/or card issuer may use their own rate of conversion and issue own charges for international transactions.

PURCHASING
Shop by browsing through our Designer, Clothing, Trends, Just In top buttons at the top of each page, or the side bar.
Once in a list of items click on the image or View Product Details button to access the item's main product page where you will be able to see the item up close and info on stock availability, sizing, colours, any unique special features of the item and any relevant ordering or delivery details.
Add the item to your shopping bag by clicking on Add To Shopping Bag.
Check the items you have chosen in your shopping bag.

You can make changes to your order, and correct order errors in the shopping bag up until you reach the checkout section (clicking of Buy Now button).

Please ensure that you take time to check your goods sizing and quantity carefully as orders cannot always be changed once they have been confirmed.

To delete an item from your shopping bag, click on the Remove Item button below the item. To change the number of items, click on the arrow and select new quantity. To add a new item, just resume shopping - you can come back to your shopping bag whenever you like.

You can resume shopping, without choosing to Buy Now, by simply clicking on any of the top bar buttons or Home. Your shopping bag details will be saved, and you can access them at any time by clicking on Shopping Bag in the top bar. Please note that when the item is in your shopping bag another customer can still purchase it.

Standard, Special or International delivery can be calculated in your shopping bag depending on your location and which service you choose, and you'll be given the option to enter any promotional or gift codes. The total price (inclusive of VAT) will be added up automatically. If you have registered you will be given the option of selecting from your registered preferred delivery addresses here as well. You can save up to three adresses and edit and remove them at any stage.

Enter your billing address and the address option of where you would like the goods delivered, if this is different from the billing address, or the first time you have sent an item to a different address. We may need to call you to verify this is your order and your card.

If you have purchased more than one item and wish for them to be delivered to different addresses, eg, as gifts, we will require you to order each item separately, and pay for the equivalent postage and packaging per item being sent to separate addresses. Your credit/debit card will be charged when you place your order. We accept the following credit/debit cards: Maestro, Switch, Mastercard, Visa, Solo. YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL
Under the Distance Selling regulations of the Trading Standards Act you may normally cancel your order (once accepted by us) for any reason up to seven days from delivery of your order. You must give notification of cancellation of your order in writing by post or email to customerservice@fashion-conscience.com. If the payment is already taken and item already dispatched we will credit your card the full amount minus delivery costs. You will be responsible for the return postage to the above address. When goods are delivered to a third party, you will only be able to exercise this right if you are able to return to us goods you ordered.

FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ LTD delivery in the UK is by two methods.

First Class Recorded currently at a standard £4.50 for first item, plus £2.00 per every additional item and will be dispatched the same day for delivery if your item is in stock and we receive and verify your orders before 12 noon (weekdays only and with the exception of a small number of remote postcodes). Generally First Class Recorded packages will be received the next day, however please allow more time for remote postcodes and we advise up to 14 days for delivery. Your package will need to be signed for on receipt.

Special Next Day Delivery currently at £6.00 for the first item, plus £3.00 per every additional item. We advise you use this option for high expense orders as they are automatically insured for £500, and if you need your order in a rush. This option is subject to item being in stock. If it is, it will be dispatched asap to reach you the following day from dispatch. If an item is not in stock, we will inform you, and if you wish, refund you the postage difference between Special Delivery and First Class Recorded. We will need to receive your order by 12 noon to dispatch it by Special Delivery for the next day.

International Signed For - this is the method we send all international orders and the price varies dependent on your country, with an extra charge per extra item. Please check your country in the shopping bag to determine postage costs to your country. All items are signed for, insured, and trackable until they leave UK, and often trackable in other countries. On average, delivery takes 4-5 days from date if dispatchbut can take longer. Your package will need to be signed for on receipt. We cannot deliver to international post boxes addresses.

CUSTOMS INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS - all internationally shipped items are subject to customs checks and potential charges. Each countries customs arrangements are different. Please be aware we are not liable for charges levied or delay of items held at customs. Legally we are obligated to mark all international shipments with value of goods. If your item is a gift, although we can remove the value from the delivery note, we cannot from the shipment's customs information on the package.

Orders made on a weekend or bank holiday will be processed the next working day. An order made and verified after 12 noon on a Friday, will be dispatched Monday. This service may not be available on all items if they are coming into the UK from outside, Please click on the STOCK button at the top of this window to find out more.

All postage is inclusive of UK VAT.

Currently any orders which need items to go to separate and different addresses will need to be ordered separately.

You must be registered with FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ LTD to place an order, and at registration we ask for your billing address and delivery address. Please make sure when you select your delivery address it is the correct one, and you are able to sign for it at that address. You may amend your delivery addresses at any time with the edit/remove functions.

If you are buying off a friends' wish list and would like to have the item sent to them direct, please check their correct address. We are unable to accept orders where the full address information has not been supplied. If you are unsure about the address please check against either Royal Mail's free Postcode / Address Finder: www.royalmail.com or use the 'Free Postcode Finder' service at: www.postcodeanywhere.co.uk

Please also note that for first time orders where the billing and delivery addresses differ we may contact you to verify that it is your card and your order - this is for your own protection.

If you are not in or unable to sign for an item, it will be sent to a local delivery centre, and a card posted through your letter box to let you know how you might arrange pick up or re-delivery.

We regret we cannot deliver to a PO boxes UK or international and you'll need to arrange for deliver to another address.

We believe strongly in minimising packaging but want your purchase to arrive safely. All FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ packaging is made from recycled, recyclable or biodegradable materials, with solvent free adhesives. Paper packaging, where possible, is also sourced from FSC managed forests. We're constantly reviewing our packaging to make it as low impact as we can.

Often items will also arrive in their own designer branded packaging. In general these will also be eco-friendly but we cannot always guarantee they use low impact packaging. We always encourage our designers to explore the least damaging packaging they can.

FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ Ltd also believe in not printing unless absolutely necessary, this goes for our company business as well as our packaging. We use digital printing with enviro-friendly toners, non-toxic or vegetable-based inks and recycled printer cartridges, and FSC certified recycled stationary.

Our business even uses eco-couriers! Why use motorbikes and vans around town when cycle couriers are better for the environment and faster? It just makes sense.

We at FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ Ltd really want you to be delighted with your purchase and the quality of the products sold on our site. If however anything does not meet your satisfaction, please return the items within 14 days for an exchange or refund, providing it is unworn and in a re-saleable condition.

To make a return, all the items swing tickets and labels must still be attached to the returned goods, and the items must be unused, complete and in their original undamaged packaging. Please be aware that shoes must be returned with their original designer packaging. Shoes returned without their original boxes will not be accepted.

When trying on garments please take care not to get perfume or make-up on the garments. We will not be able to accept worn or soiled returns.

We regret we will not be able to accept as a return any items which by their nature cannot be returned, eg lingerie, underwear, tights, earrings for pierced ears.

Return postage on unwanted items is at the customer's cost and liability. We recommend that you insure goods that are being returned for their full value and keep a proof of postage.

RETURNS POLICY FOR ITEMS ON SALE
Please follow the same procedure as for non-sale items.

Your statutory rights are not affected when goods are faulty or damaged.

TO MAKE A RETURN

Fill in the return form on the delivery note, that came with your packaging. Please mark your reason for return and clearly if you would like an exchange or a refund.

Include the form in your package with the return address firmly attached in the address window.

In case you have lost the delivery note/returns form, please state your name and address, original order reference and details of the item you are returning and enclose this in the package. Then please send returns to the following address: FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM LTD, 6 Bromar Road, London SE5 8DL, England. Your order confirmation email also doubles up as a delivery/returns note. You can simple print that out and use it as well.

Please obtain proof of postage (and keep this until you have received your refund), we cannot accept responsibility for parcels lost in transit. We also recommend that you send the goods via an insured service. Please note that unidentified returns/exchanges may be returned to the sender.
We regret we will not be able to refund postage unless the original item sent out was faulty or incorrect to the item you ordered. In the unlikely event this happens we will reimburse you the cost of return postage, and if you desire an exchange, not charge you for secondary postage of the correct item.
We strongly advise all customers to check garments thoroughly upon delivery before removing any attached tags and before disposing of any original packaging.

EXCHANGES
If you would like to change your order for a different size after delivery please return the unwanted item in the usual way for refund. We can only exchange the same item in a different size, subject to availability. Please notify us of the size you wish to exchange it for. We are unable to process any exchanges for a completely different item. Exchanged items can only be dispatched after the returned goods have been received and undergone a quality control check. You will be liable for the exchange postage.
To avoid ordering the incorrect size first time round, please view our size charts and read the product detail descriptions to double check you are selecting the correct size. You may also email customerservice@fashion-conscience.com if you have any particular questions about the sizing.

REFUNDS
We are happy to give a full refund on items returned new and unused back to us within 14 days of your receipt. All refunds, less the delivery cost, will be credited to the original payment debit/credit card after we have received and inspected the returned item. A refund should be credited back to your card within 7 days of our receipt of the item, but please allow up to 30 days. Note, the refund might not show up on your statement for a few days.

We regret we will not be able to give a refund if;

- the unsuitable goods are returned for refund outside of the 14-day period. They cannot be returned to the customer if they are sent back to us outside of this time.

- goods sent for refund that are not in a saleable condition (worn, soiled or without tags or designer boxes). We reserve the right to refuse a refund if this is the case. Upon receipt of an order, if any item has been received with no tags, customer should notify us (by phone or email) on the same day. You may be required to make arrangement to collect the item if you have made a return but without the original tags. In this instance please arrange for collection from; 6 Bromar Road, London SE5 8DL, England.

Please email us on returns@fashion-conscience.com or call: 0871 384 1180 to advise us that the collection has been arranged. We will email you to inform you if goods cannot be refunded. Goods must be collected within 28 days.

You will not be liable for FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ Ltd packages lost in the post when sent from us to you. You will be asked to sign for any goods delivered at which point responsibility for your purchased goods passes to you. Please make sure a responsible person, if not yourself, signs for it.

If you are making a return please try to ensure that you insure the item too, as we cannot accept returned items which have been damaged in the post or refund items which have gone missing without proof of postage or adequate insurance.

Most sizes adhere to standard, general UK sizes (please see chart below for equivalent US and European sizes and the standard UK bust, waist, hip sizes for each dress size). If we become aware that an item has unusual sizing, eg, has come up smaller or larger than normal we will always endeavour to alert you by making a making a note of it in the item product description details. Please always read these carefully as well as referring to the size charts prior to ordering to avoid wasteful returns due to wrong size ordering.

Please also double check you have ordered the correct size at shopping bag stage especially on INTERNATIONAL ORDERS. Below and in the apparel description of each item we detail the International eqivalent sizes. We adhere to the Italian European sizing system. We list the UK size first but if you are an international customer please be careful to pick the equivalent of your international size. In general a SMALL is equivalent to a UK10/US6/EUR38, a MEDIUM to a UK12/US8/EUR40 and a LARGE to a UK14/US10/EUR42.

If you have ordered the wrong size and wish to exchange it, we are happy to do so. Please click on our RETURNS section at the top of this window.

All bust, waist hip sizes are in inches and approximate. In general garments can vary by up to half an inch.

Many of our items are unique in their nature - they may be made from recycled products, vintage or re-used fabrics, yarns or factory off-cuts or made in small runs to limit environmental impacts - and as such cannot always be duplicated in high numbers. We think that this adds to the special nature of the items you'll find here, but it also means that from time to time we may temporarily run out of certain stock or are only able to order small quantities of items in a specific fabric or colour and thus have to wait for redelivery. If an item you like is not currently available in your size or colour way, contact customerservice@fashion-conscience.com who will be able to inform you of re-deliveries or if a special order may be made. Only items in stock should appear on the site, and you should only be able to purchase items in stock. If on occasion an item is out of stock but has remained on the site by error, our customer service team will contact you by email to inform you if it is on redelivery and how long that might be.

Please note if you have placed an item in your shopping bag but have not purchased it, it can still be bought by another customer and as such may go out of stock.

In addition, if an item goes out of stock in the size, style you've selected it will be automatically removed from your shopping bag and wish list. If it's an item we have re-ordered, and you want it to appear back in your wish list when back in stock, you will need to personally re-select it from the site.

IN STOCK EMAIL ALERTS
If you have clicked on one of these links on our Coming Soon page we will automatically email you to your registered email address when the item comes into stock. You must be registered to use this feature. You then have the opportunity to purchase the item.

This is FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™'s brilliant way to create a wish list of your favourite items to buy later or to pass on to friends and family to purchase on your behalf, ensuring perfectly suited ethical gifts!

When setting up a wish list please choose a password different to your Log In password to prevent your account details being viewable by anyone you give your wish list password to. As above with sign in, if you forget your password please click on the reminder link and a new password will be sent to the email address you originally used at registration sign in.

If an item goes out of stock in the size, style you've selected it will be automatically removed from your shopping bag and wish list. If it's an item we have re-ordered, and you want it to appear back in your wish list when back in stock, you will need to revisit the site and personally re-select it.

We treat all your Personal Information as confidential (although we reserve the right to disclose this information in the circumstances set out below). We keep it on a secure server and we fully comply with all applicable UK Data Protection and consumer legislation. Where do the clothes come from?
The clothes come from a number of ethical designers from the US, Europe and South America, India and Singapore. We hope to expand our rosta of designers and countries where clothes are made to benefit local communities in many areas across the world.

How do I know the designers and manufacturers are ethical?
We work on an understanding of transparency of our designers' manufacture process. We know that all of our designers are keen to make their collections as ethical as possible, many already use internationally recognised ethical organic fabrics and fair trade processes or are striving to get official recognition. In some cases it can take several years to get international ethical or fair trade accreditation but we recognise their actions now.

What happens if the item is of a one-off nature?
Some items in particular are made from recycled items, and as such are hard to duplicate in high numbers, often they are literally one-offs or, if replicated, may vary in colour or nature of materials. If this is the case we will make this clear to you in the product details page of the item. It also means specific colours, if limited, may sell out quickly. We try to only show items in stock, but occasionally items will sell out so fast of these limited numbers, the product may remain on the site but not be available. If this is the case and you order one, we will contact you to let you know, and let know if and when it will be back in stock.

Does FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ have sales?
FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ has occasional sales and reductions and there are links to the Sale page from the top navigation bar. FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ cannot guarantee that its prices will be equivalent or equal to offline boutiques when they go on sale. Also, due to the exclusive and unique nature of some of our stock, we can't guarantee that an item will still be available for purchase late in the season.

How do I know my purchase will fit?
Please refer to our SIZING guide, and US, European conversions for each item. Our sizing guide is accessible in our main pop up. NOTE we adhere to the Italian European sizing. Here we guide you on the various size conversions and standard UK sizing. In addition, we provide notes about each item, if it comes up different to standard UK sizing in the product details. For any further queries please email customerservice@fashion-conscience.com before purchase.
Should an item not fit you can return the item or exchange it for a different size of that style only. Please check our RETURNS policy and follow the instructions.

How do I know what is in stock?
All items shown should be in stock unless the words 'Sold Out' appear in the size drop-down on the product pages and if your size does not appear it may be out of stock. We endeavour to remove any items from the site not in stock. Occasionally an item will be sold out so fast it may still appear on the site but is out of stock. If you order such as item we will inform you. Please be aware that even if a product is in your shopping bag it isn't reserved and can be bought by another customer while you are browsing.

What if an item is out of stock?
If an item you are interested in is temporarily out of stock or out of your size please email customerservice@fashion-conscience.com to inform us of your interest. They will be to advise you if and when the piece you wish to buy is due back in stock. Please make sure you have registered your details with us before you make your request.

What payment methods does you accept?

Is it safe to use my credit card?

How will I know you received my order?
After you place your order, you will receive an email confirming that your order has been received, which will contain an order reference number. This does not mean your order has been accepted by us. Once your credit card has been approved, the receiving address has been verified, and the item has been located, your order will be accepted and the item shipped. You will receive another e-mail notifying you if any of the items you ordered are not in stock and a tracking number where applicable. If this occurs your credit card account will only be charged with the cost of the items in stock.

What if I live in a country where FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ does not ship?
FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ now ships worldwide. Please check your country in our drop down menus in the shopping bag. The cost to ship to your country for the items you have selected will automatically be calculated.

Do you ship to Post Office boxes?
We do not deliver to PO boxes as our packages require signature on receipt and you will need to arrange for an alternate delivery address. You must provide us with an address where our delivery service can get a signature.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?
During the checkout process, you will be asked to select the shipping address for your order. At this time, you can ship your online order to only one location, which may be different to your billing address, if it is a gift. Your order may include several gifts that require shipping to several different locations. To do this you will be required to place separate orders for each address you wish to ship to. How soon can I get my order?
We try to dispatch all orders within 24 hours if the item is in stock, however, please allow up to 14 days for delivery as external factors may cause delays. If your item may be delayed in delivery, for instance the item needs to be shipped to us from outside of the UK, or is a special order, we will let you know by email on receipt of your order. Please read our DELIVERY section for more details.

UK delivery by First Class Recorded delivery is usually 1-3 days.
UK Special Delivery is next day provided the item is in stock.
International Signed For delivery is usually 4-5 days from date of dispatch.
For your security all items need to be signed for.

Please make sure you or a trusted friend/colleague is available to sign for your package. All UK shipping prices shown are inclusive of VAT.

How can I track my order?
All our packages are sent by First Class Recorded delivery, Special Delivery and International Signed For. Where applicable we will send you your tracking number details. First Class recorded cannot be tracked, but a record is taken of receipt. Special and International Signed For services can both be tracked in the UK, and in some countreis International can be tracked in your home country.

Is my personal information kept private?
We consider all the information you share with us totally private and confidential. We will not share, rent or sell your personal information without your consent. For details please read the FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ Privacy Policy. In order to register as a user at FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™, we will need to know your name, mailing address and email address. In order to process credit card orders online, we will also need information including your billing address, shipping address, telephone number, credit card number and expiration date. How can I expect to receive my order?
Most orders will be delivered to you in the original designer packaging with minimal FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ packaging. Most of our designers use packaging that is recycled, recyclable or from sustainable sources. As an ethical site we want your order to arrive safely but with least impact to the environment. We use FSC recycled, recyclable acid free tissue paper, chlorine free non- toxic label stickers, FSC recycled, recyclable delivery note and LDPE (the most environmentally friendly plastic bag we could find) Biothene delivery bag, which has special agents in it to make it biodegrade faster than other bags, ours biodegrade in 2-5 years compared to 100 years for some bags. We urge you to try and re-use all packaging we and other companies send to you. Our printing inks are all vegetable, recycled toner, or non-toxic where possible.

Is my package insured?
All merchandise in transit from FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM™ to the delivery address is insured up to it's value against theft and accidental damage. Once the merchandise has been delivered to the specified delivery address and signed for, the merchandise is no longer covered by insurance.

Is VAT included?
Prices on the website and delivery charges are all shown inclusive of UK VAT.

Items received into stock may be pre-allocated to satisfy Advance Payment orders and customers making Advance Payments will receive items in priority to customers ordering through the Site for immediate delivery.
